Professor Deke Victoria Adegunloye

Professor Deke Victoria Adegunloye is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Nigeria. She currently serves as the Principal Investigator of a TETFund National Research Fund project .Her doctoral research focused on the Microbiology of Decomposed Animal Dungs and Crop Wastes and Their Evaluation for Plant Growth and Biogas Production. Since then, her research has been devoted to the conversion of waste materials into valuable products, with particular emphasis on environmental biotechnology, bioenergy, bioremediation, bioethanol production, and bioelectricity generation.
Professor Adegunloye is actively involved in teaching, mentor and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has authored numerous publications in reputable local and international journals and has presented her research at several national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars. She also serves as a reviewer for many local and international scientific journals and has acted as an external examiner for Master's and doctoral examinations in several universities both within and outside Nigeria. She is a member of several professional bodies.
Throughout her academic career, Professor Adegunloye has held numerous administrative positions within the university and has made significant contributions to research, teaching, and community service. Her outstanding contributions have earned her several national and international awards and honours. She was a recipient of the Federal Government of Nigeria Postgraduate Scholarship for her Ph.D. studies and received the African Network of Scientific and Technological Institutions (ANSTI) Travel Grant to participate in the International Conference on Energy and Sustainability. In recognition of her exceptional mentorship, she received the 2025 Best Supervisor Award (Ph.D. Category) from the School of Postgraduate Studies, School of Life Sciences, Federal University of Technology, Akure.
Beyond academia, Professor Adegunloye is deeply committed to faith-based and community service. She serves as the Zonal Coordinator of Sunday School Teachers in the Resurrection Zone of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Ondo Province IV, Ondo State, Nigeria. She also serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Grace-Reach-Fill Development Foundation, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
